What are Gold Accounts?

Gold Accounts are a special account type that give members many benefits while helping to fund the Subeta website.

Facts

  • Gold Accounts make up the majority of the funds Subeta receives to sustain itself.
  • Gold Accounts cost $5 USD, but in times of crisis in which the site is unable to accept donations or when the prices for a medal in sP are highly inflated, they are placed in the Millionaire Center for 700,000 sP.
  • Gold Accounts were originally not items; A user would pay for their account, then it would be automatically activated. They could also pay in the name of others, and sell accounts in this way. Eventually, however, this method broke down and had to be added manually. However, due to the difficulty of this arrangement and the constant risk of scamming, the price became inflated and highly unstable. They were made into Medals that users could activate themselves or sell to other users. They exist in amount per month, from 1 to 12.
  • Gold Accounts used to be available as a subscription that would automatically charge a user's PayPal account then automatically add to the user's time left, but this was discontinued due to repeated instances of users being charged and then not receiving their subscription.
  • In a span of two years, the average price of a 1 Month Gold Account increased from 55,000 sp to 700,000 sp.
  • As of April 2008, Gold Accounts can be bought for 3.5-5 million sp.

Priveleges

The holding of a Gold Account entails many priveleges. They are:

  • The autopricer, which is an option in a user's shop that will automatically price all that shop's items at the lowest price currently existing for that item.
  • The ability to play the game Mind Reader 35 times a day, as opposed to 20.
  • The ability to play the game Reflection every 2 hours, as opposed to four.
  • The ability to play the game Random every hour and a half, as opposed to three hours.
  • A special forum only for Gold Account holders. Anything PG-13 can be discussed there, and the forum may get special information not available to users without a Gold Account, such as plot information, upcoming events, etc.
  • 15% less training cost at the Training Center.
  • A special trophy for the user's lookup. (If for some reason the trophy doesn't add, the user is free to send a mail to Xprimaleyesx, who will add it for them.)
  • The ability to adopt a total of ten pets, as opposed to five.
  • The ability to use pet slots gained through the use of the Mystical Donadak Plushie or Mystical Montre Plushie. Although even without a Gold Account a user can freely use one of the plushies without fear of losing their slots, due to the coding of Gold Accounts, the slots only become usable with a Gold Acount'.
  • A yellow background for the Shoutbox.
  • A gold user icon that appears in both the Shoutbox and Forums.
  • The option to wear 3 items on one layer of their Human Avatar instead of 2.
  • 10 extra quests a day.

Myths Dispelled

  • Myth: The privelege of Gold Account users to adopt limited edition pets was discontinued because the pets became too common.
  • Fact: At one point, users were granted the privelege of adopting limited edition pets. However, a staggering amount of Gold Account holders created pets for normal users, or even attempted to sell limited edition pets.
  • Myth: Users that donate to the site by buying Gold Accounts or Donation items get more help/favored/worshipped/etc. by the Staff.
  • Fact: The staff treat everyone equality if they are a Gold Account holder or not. Also alot of people get Gold accounts with SP, so having a Gold account does not mean you donated to the site directly anyways.
  • Myth: After a Gold account expires, extra pets adopted disappear.
  • Fact: Even after the Gold Account expires, the user is free to keep their pets. However, if one is abandoned, the user cannot adopt or make a new one without another Gold Account.
  • Myth: If you pay and do not receive your item, you have lost your money.
  • Fact: If you paid online, just mail Xprimaleyesx the e-mail address used to purchase it and the exact date of purchase. If you ordered through the mail and after a month you still don't have your order, smail the staff that you sent the money to and explain your situation.
