Ontra

The Ontra is a pet that is based upon the otter. The most notable difference is that Subeta's Ontra features dolphin-like flukes at the end of its long tail as well as a pair of large, vacuous eyes. Despite its former status as the site's semi-mascot, this species has never been tremendously popular.

When first created, the Ontra is Common by default. It is tan with darker brown accents on the tips of its paws, as well as dark spots on its limbs and tail. It is available in 16 different colors, including the coveted Reborn and Spectrum varieties.

Criticism

The Ontra is another one of those pets so unfortunately misunderstood by a large number of newbies and other people generally unfamiliar with Subeta and its history, with some believing it to be a ripoff of NeoPets' Lutari [1]. In all actuality, the Ontra came out several years prior to the release of NeoPets' newest mustelid species, making these claims not only unfounded, but potentially reversible.

Some users dislike the revamp, claiming the old version looked younger and cuter.

In the real world, otters are carnivorous; on Subeta, they are omnivores.
The Library is run by an Ontra.
Ontras were originally called Otters[2], until they were revamped on August 1st 2007.
