The Tigrean is a tiger-like pet best known for its mischevious expression, erratic stripes, ankle spurs, and unique stripes. It enjoys a limited level of popularity with lovers of feline-type pets.

When first created, the Tigrean is Common by default; this gives it uniquely aggressive-looking red fur with gold-colored ankle spurs and eyes. It is available in many colors, including Darkmatter and Reborn.

Criticism

Once again, we find ourselves with a pet that is regularly compared to something on NeoPets. In this case, some newbies accuse the Tigrean of being a Kougra[1] knockoff. This claim, while understandable, is something of a moot point; tigers are a popular animal and NeoPets certainly can lay no claim to the concept of the tiger. Additionally, many of the "basic" colors of the original version[2] of this pet were simply recolored using a photo-editing colorize tool. It has since been solved with a revamp.

Did You Know?

The original and Chibi Tigreans were drawn by the same artist that runs the popular website Suta-Raito.
Keith requested that a redraw of the Tigrean be done to change the pet's lack of dimension and awkward position. This happened on July 8th, 2007.
Former artist Sooki drew an Angelic Tigrean that was never released due to staff conflict.
In the real world, Tigrean refers to someone from the Ethiopian province of Tigray.
